How much boost can i run in my 94 turbo GS-R w/o blowing the engine? (safely?)

 

w/out any internal work or sleeves and is the compression stock?
if these are the case then i think no more than 7-8 psi should be used
anymore than 9psi and you will run into problems if you dont beef up your internals
my friend has a turbo LS and he runs 7 psi w/the REVhard kit

 

I heard that GS-R's dont handle turbos well...is this true?

 

b18c1's have higher compression so there is more risk of detonation. With proper tuning they can handle 12+ psi on stock internals. I wouldnt push more then 7-9psi daily.

 

That depends, how good is your local shop at tuning? What kind of engine management are you running?

 

also, what size turbo are you running?

if its a t3/t04 then you could run 12lbs max with great tuning.

if its the greddy 18G, like i have, you could probably run a little higher since its a smaller turbo.

 

with fuel management 12-15lbs...stock internals

stock, i would go over 7...
