antennas
My antenna is stuck in the up position. I tried to take it out after removing the bolt...I don't think Hercules could take it out. Any suggestions to remove that thing???
Also, any suggestions for a new antenna? I want one with pretty good reception...I have to travel in the boonies often.

Before you rip out the old antenna, figure out *why* it broke. Depending on what broke, you may be able to replace/fix it without removing the whole thing.
Don't let the dealership sell you an entire thing with the motor and all - just the mast and cord can be replaced with relative ease and that's the piece that generally breaks.
My stock antenna gets great reception - what else can you expect with that 18-foot mast!

why are you having so much trouble taking out the antenna? what part is being difficult? I replaced my LS antenna with my old GSR one and I had no problems taking either off.

don't know why, but it won't budge. Even after pulling as hard as possible. Also, the spacer did not come off with the bolt. I don't really know where it is, unless it's the part that seems shrunk onto the bottom of the mast.

you know how the top of the antenna(SILVER part) has those ridges, but a flathead there and hammer it counter clockwise that should loosen up the antenna from the motor. then it should come out with ease!
