Here's the lowdown, 1st gear seems ok until i try to shift into 2nd. It doesn't want to budge until the rpm gets around 1.5k and then i could shift into second. The same thing happen to second when i try to shift into 3rd. I have to force it out of 2nd and wait until the rpm goes to idle before i could put it into 3rd. If i put the gear into 3rd without waiting until the rpm goes down, it grinds.

Is the tranny bad or is it the clutch?

 

sounds like synchros to me. If the clutch is going, it will smell burned, or slip or something like that. By slip I mean RPM's go up and the car is not moving, then slowly moves ahead

 

i have a similar problem with my gsr and ls tranny except it only does it when the car warms up or when i drive for a couple miles and it only does it sometimes like for a week at a time and then it will stop for a while??? help me out people
