Default RS-R Exmag

I know that these are one of the quietest exhaust systems on the market, but I also realize that it is a chambered exhaust system, which means its airflow is not as good as the straight style.

However, if the powerloss compared to straight style exhaust is minimal, I would get the RS-R hands down.

Those of you who own the RS-R exmag, do you think it's worth it?

Noise level is very important to me. I hate the rice pipe noise.

Thanks.

I JUST bought this exhaust last week, should be here hopefully today or Tuesday.

I will make sure to tell you about the sound and if I can feel the power gain from it on my SE, since we basically have the same car.

read about the exmag here and you'll see that you can get a straight-through, loop or chambered designed.

just call RS-R.

thats MSRP, not what you can actually get it for. I got the full cat back system shipped to me for ~480.

I absolutely love mine. It's quiet but not understated, and growls up in the higher RPMS, but still quiet to not annoy the neighbors or look or sound like a ricer. I've noticed I go through the RPMs more swiftly and the overall powerband seems smoother.

I give mine an A. I'd give it an A+, but I prefer the look of a single walled SS tip as opposed to a rolled tip, but from more than 10-15 feet away it actually looks better than a single walled tip.

I'm thinking of either the RS-R Exmag or WS also. I had a Greddy Evo on a '99 Civic Si and it was just too loud, but sounded great when I wanted to hear it. The biggest problem I need to fix right now is that annoying A-Pipe buzz and heat shield rattle. While the exhaust shop is under there, I'd like to get a quiet cat-back setup installed (while saving some cashola in the process). 2 questions:

* Is the Apex WS or Exmag quiet enough not to drone at highway speeds?
* If I pull off the heat shield thats behind the cat, will the floor get too toasty?

Thanks...

I have a GS-R with the WS and I absolutely love it very quiet but still loud enough to know you have an exhaust, as far as cruising on the highway not annoying because at 80 mph the GS-R is at 4000 rpm and with the WS you hear it but it is not loud, as far as the heatshield on the cat I dont have it on there and have no issues as far as a toasty floor as you said.

i had an rs-r exmag when i had my car i bought it for 300 dollars before it went out of business in america and then came back. The tone is really deep in the low rpms and you hardly notice it but then when you WOT you can really tell it's there. It's a sleeper kind of exhaust where you won't hear or notice it until it's too late
