Default Replacing Antenna on G3

My antenna has never retracted into my trunk since I bought my car. I want to replace it since it's probably broken.

My problem is that I can't get to the motor. I can take the back panel of the trunk off with no problem but I can't find any screws or plugs for the side panel. Taking the dash apart is hell, I hope this is a little easier.

Any help?

YOu can get to the motor in the trunk no prob.

Take off the rear panel, remove the two bolts on the left panel (one is inside the left rear access panel for the shocks) and remove the floor plastic screw.
Then pull the left panel out from the side of the car, it will snap out of place.

Then there is one bolt holding the motor in place, make sure you disconnect all wires going to it (power, antenna) and the wire powering the trunk light.

You can then do whatever you want with it... personally trash the SOB and install a s2k antenna

Thanks for the info. This is the second time I heard someone suggest a S2000 antenna. What is so special about them and are they expensive compared to a run-of-the-mill retractable?

nothing so special about them except they are a mod. I personally think they make the teg look like an rc car. Plus, people can just unscrew them and take them
