GSR cam swap
I was curious as to whether I can swap my gsr cams for the integra type r cams and still be able to keep my stock gsr springs, retainers, etc. The larger lobe profile on the type r cams will not damage anything will it? How similar are the springs and retainers between the two? Any help on this would be great! Anyone on this forum looking to sell their civic type r or integra type r cams?
many will say its safe. but if you want to be reliable, then you would have to get upgraded valve springs, type r would obviously be ok. i am in the same situation, and i am just looking for type r everything, i would do the same if i were you. thats just for upgrading to type r cams.
CTR cams only differ from ITR cams in 97-99, and at that its only 3* more duration on the intake vtec lobe. 00-01 ITR & CTR are identical.
I'm currently planning out a CTR/ITR cam swap myself for my GSR. I went ahead and opted for ITR Outers and Portflow Inners with Ti retainers. Its a small investment to give me the peace-of-mind to know the springs will be doing their job after the cam swap. And I want to make sure this motor stays reliable while I build the "real" motor

I would recommend getting ITR intake & exhaust. I don't know where you would even get just an intake cam cause most people sell em in pairs and if you're gonna do it, you might as well do it right the first time.
