Default Re-Installing Shocks

Hi, i was installin the first tokico hp shock on the rear of my integra. i Dismantled the old shock and spring and replaced it with the tokico shock and when I try to reinstall the rear shock, the bottom fits on the control arm and there is a long bolt which goes into it. but the bolt is only half threaded. When i try to bolt it back on, it stops where the thread stops. How do the get the other half of the bolt in?

If I remember correctly, you have to hammer in the bolt first, then tighten it with a ratchet.

Not sure how you are doing this.. but here's what it should be link.

Welded on nut-One side of the shock mounting bracket-control arm-other die of shock mounting bracket. Then you put in the bolt from this side. It sounds (based on your description) that you are putting in the bolt from the welded-on nut side. It needs to go through the shock and bushing/control arm before the threads get to the nut.

If you are installing it in the correct direction, then it's just not lined up right, keep messing with it and use a rubber mallet to push it in. If you remove the bolt and look in the hole you'll see which direction it needs to move to line up.
