Default ABS code 8-2 ???

Recently my ABS light had came on in my 94 gsr, so I pulled the code. There was 8 fast flashes, then a slight pause, then followed by another fast 2. I read it as code 8-2. Upon researching, I found that code 8-2 meant "CPU Comparison." Does anyone have any ideas what this really means????? If so can some give any advice on how to proceed to get this problem fixed??

I looked that one up... Apparently there's actually 2 ABS computers together in the same case, & they compare answers. If they don't agree that's not good. If you reset & it keeps coming back you gotta replace the ABS 'computer'.

yea, i just read that too. wow, i didn't know it compared between 2 CPUs. However, if you do keep resetting it and getting DTC 8-2 - you have to replace the ABS computer.

I thought 8-2 indicates a faulty ABS control unit. Never heard of this "CPU comparison".

That's what my Helm book says.

8-2 = CPU comparison
8-4 = IC self-check

They're both for a faulty ABS controller. I don't know why they bother with separate codes when the 'repair' procedure is the same.
