Default I Can Barely Hear VTEC, How Do I Get VTEC To Scream?

i have a 98 gsr. i have an aem cold air intake and exhaust on it already. not much of course but that is all i had done to my last integra. my last integra had a b16a2 swap, aem cold air and exhaust. the vtec on that car just freakin BANGED in. that car was very loud and got pulled over for it just being loud. anyway what i am tryin to say is that my new b18c1 is just a dud compared to my old b16a2. i hear the 2 vtec points in my car but barely. what could be different between the two motors and how do i get vtec to be louder on my b18c1?? thanks

Ummm... dude... louder does not equal better, and if anything, worse. Be thankful you have more torque and power than before.

What exhaust and intake do you have?

A short ram intake will make it louder, also maybe your exhaust may be quieter on this one, even if they are the same, maybe this one is just in better condition and not as loud.

Also i dont know, but the cam profiles for VTEC may have been more agressive in your old car, thus making more of a change in airflow, thus making it louder.

Default Try having a SOHC VTEC on an auto tranny

I used to have a short ram cone filter on my SOHC and yeah you could hear it, but hardly feel it.....(i know it's not as nuts as the B16a).....went back to a stock box with a CAI routed in from below with a flat panel K&N....now I can feel the pull, but the car is quieter..........I miss the whine

Get a straight pipe. That will make it louder and give you a bit more power.

its spelled vtec :a: :squint:

and it will kick in at 4400 with the intake secondaries opening at ~5800. there is only one stage of vtec.
