Default Help! New clutch cost?

My integra (a 97 with almost 130,000 miles) is having difficulty shifting. I was told that I need a new clutch, which isn't too surprising given its age. I was quoted $1500 for the replacement which seemed really high to me. Any input? Also, I was told I should have my water belt, fan belts, and timing belt replaced for $550. I would really appreciate any input you guys have!

Thanks!

1500 is wayyyyyyyyy too much.... you're gettin screwed if you pay that.

as for the belts, the TIMING belt (water belt doesnt even exist maybe water pump?? ) might need replacing... you dont even have a fan belt, our fans are electronicly powered.

my biggest suggestion to you is to find a different mechanic, this guy sounds like he is trying to rip you off.

I second that, if he doesnt even know what a timing belt is and that we dont have fan belts...and 1500 FOR A STOCK CLUTCH?!?! I payed less than that for a stage 3 clutch and aftermarket flywheel installed!!

Call around get someone else to work on you car, cuz this guy will just f it up.

500 sounds about right. Expect to pay almost 450 to change the timing belt as well. Those things aren't cheap.

400-500 is reasonable for a clutch installed unless you want competition track uses then be prepared to tack on a few more bills
