i wouldn't...i'd go by the recommended interval, and then i'd even do it earlier since my car will be seeing high revs and high temps - things that will wear a spark plug faster.

it would be fine, but you wouldn't get any gains. stick w/ the OEM NGKs.

My 98 GS-R says that it has Platinum plugs as OEM in my manual, would original NGKs be a good idea for me?

it has been shown that the bosch+4's are just a waste of money on the GSR. iridiums are okay, but useless w/o fuel & air mods...

So, if I have a short ram intake, high performance header and exhaust system... would I get any horse power gains at all from a high performance spark plugs?

No. The only horsepower a spark plug will give you is regaining the power lost by old or crappy plugs.

Expensive spark plugs are more reliable and longer lasting, that is all. Iridium does not conduct electricity as well as copper - it's just a whole lot stronger.

From what ive read iridium spark plugs use a smaller tip so that it can create a bigger, more powerful spark. They use iridium because its stronger so they can use a small tip and it wont melt. Ive also seen dyno charts with the plugs it claims like 5 hp and 4 ft lbs of torque. But thats what ive read so just my opinion.
