Default Tranny Troubles

94 Integra RS - Over the course of the last few weeks it has become more difficult more often to get shift into first gear. Sometimes it simply won't go in. If I shift it into second, without engaging the clutch, then back into first it slides in fine...usually. But this afternoon, I had my first instance of it not going into second. All the other gears shift a touch rough too. One friend says it's just the master cylinder and another said it's time for a new tranny... What's your verdict?

It may be signs your clutch is going south. How old is it?

That may be the case. I wouldn't rely on 10-30w syn. oil a few people use in their Honda trannies.... At first I was thinking you might have popped a spring in the clutch but then you just put in a new one so it may be the tranny fluid.

What's a good method of changing it without getting it all over myself and the driveway...

Buy yourself some sort of catch pan if you're going to drain it. And buy a pump with a long enough tube to stick in the hole where you add the tranny fluid.

If that isn't it...is it possible the master cyl is going? My friend says it isn't disengaging all the way and gets jammed up. How much are they to have changed...I don't wanna deal with bleeding the lines and all that.

Thanks for the help man...I'll try changing the fluid tomorrow.
