Default Another icebox question

Where can I purchase the air filter upgrade? All the websites say

"these kits must be used with either the Comptech Intake Kit, or Comptech Air Filter Upgrade."

But I have only seen the intake kits and not the filter upgrades.

You can get comptech stuff at a honda/acura dealership. Or http://www.comptechusa.com

Is this what they are referring too by the filter upgrade?

http://www.comptechusa.com/store/product1418.html

Why would somone spend $199 on the intake when they can only spend $59 on the filter? The icebox is already $169

You don't have to use the Comptech filter. You can use your OEM filter or K&N's drop in filter. I've been using the Comptech filter and have no problems with it.

IMHO, the Comptech SRI is not worth the $169 money they want to charge for it. Just use your OEM intake arm or in my case I upgraded to an ITR OEM arm.

I have a Comptech Icebox, and I have a (custom made) K&N filter and they work just fine =)

Look for a K&N drop in filter for an Integra, they're not that hard to find and only cost $35-50. It's the last filter you'll ever have to buy.

What is the difference between the OEM ITR arm and the OEM GS-R arm?

The OEM ITR arm is bigger in diameter, and fits only on RS/LS/GS/SE models or on ITRs. It won't fit on a GSR because of the location of the TB.
