Default 89 header?

hey guys whats up?
i was just wondering about my 89 ls 5-speed,
why the car so unbelieveably slow when the engine is under 3k rpms?
i do need a new muffler and a oil change,
but i was wondering if thats all is it or i was wondering if a after-market
header would help any? or im also getting a aftermarket muffler.
if anyone else has had this same problem of "lag" when below 3k rpms,
please post your opinions of what you can do to get more low end power,
or if you could tell me why mine is doing that i would be thankfull.

unfortunetly, there isnt much you can do for a G1. Do a tune up, plugs, cap rotor, fuel filter, air filter. that should help alot. also depending on your milage, you might have a clogged cat converter. I remember I had the same issue with my g2, and putting in a new OE cat gave me a ton more power (through the entire rpm band).

as for a new header i dont think anyone makes them for your car. I was told that a 88-91 civic d series header would work, but then again alot of parts were differnet on the intergra's D-series so you would need someone else to give u some input on that.

good luck

It's a Honda, and a low powered one at that. Get used to it. h:

DCsports makes a great header for the older Integras.
