Default brake help please

i was changing my brake pads on my 2nd gen integra and the main slider on the caliper will not go back in. It works when you press the brake pedal but will not retract, anyone kno what to do?

Do you mean the cylinder will not go back in? If so, you can use a c-clamp to push it back in, if not elaborate

uhh....I think both of you are talking about the caliper piston. If so then the correct procedue is to take a C clamp and squeeze it back in...be sure that when you do this you take the cap off of the master cylinder

If it is on the front, a c clamp, using the old pad or a block of wood to cover the piston will be helpful, doit slowly. On the rears, ther is a cross in the piston that you use to screw the piston back in, like with the end of some needle nose pliers or something. It is easier to do the brakes if you put the c clampon immediately after pulling the caliper, prior to the piston working its way out

Don't forget to check your brake fluid. Sometimes you will push some out of the reservoir dog. Don't get it on your paint or it will bubble and peel, unless of course you are painting soon
