Default turbo!

just recently purchased a nice lookin' 98 gsr. pretty much stock engine wise. its got tokico/h&r suspension, 5 zigens/toyos, kaminari lip kit, basic sound system, and a nice metallic blue flake on top of the supersonic blue paint. i am pretty sure im not gonna go with the custom t3/t4 set up for reasons like illegal smogs and whatever...i dont wanna get caught up in that shit my record doesnt need it. so is the greddy kit the best choice? if not then what is? also, the best price i found for greddy was around $2,400. is this the best deal or where can i find it? thanks a lot for any help!

ok forgot about a few mods on the car and not sure if they come into play or make any difference (sorry dont mean to be a NOOB):

81.5mm Probe Racing Pistons - Ceramic Coated
IB Spec Forged H Beam Rods
ARP Head Studs
Hondata IM Gasket
Stock Intake, Header, Exhaust, Cat
ACT Heavy Duty Clutch & Pressure Plate

First off, as a member of the moderating team, I want to welcome you to HAN.
Enjoy your stay.

The Greddy system has a lot of potential...I was looking at one for my LS until money become a little tight. I've heard that Greddy is looking to CARB certify the type 27 intercooler as well. If you're looking to stay smog legal and boosted, I have yet to find a better product.

My only caveat would be to factor in the cost of upgrading the cooling system at the same time as you go turbo. It would be a damn shame to pop a motor due to a inadequate cooling system. I know it sounds like a odd thing to say, but you'd be surprised how simple upgrades like those get forgotten - with disastrous results.

Happy boosting! :driving:
