Default Replacing my LS Tranny!

Hey guys... its been a while since i have been on HAN.
Well I have a 94 Acura Integra LS with 198,xxx miles on it. It has been lowered and the basics under the hood. the motor runs strong but the tranny is really weak. It grinds into 2nd and 3rd. Ans is a pain to downshift sometimes. Im wonderin what do i need to replace if i swap out my tranny for another... like clutch and/or flywheel? Also, anybody know where i can find a low mileage ls tranny for a good price?
ANy info would be nice... THanks

I may be giving one up, it just depends on how long you wanna wait for it. I will know wether I am gonna give it up by the end of July. Let me know whay you think. Also Westcoaststyle can get you a great price on a clutch/flywheel combo if you are looking for new.

I dont know how long I can wait. It started to act up again today. I might just find another low mileage motor with a tranny. I was thinking about getting that clutch flywheel combo, but not sure what combo to look at. only time will tell.

I had the same problem. i looked high and low for a reasonably priced 5speed tranny, and couldnt find one. I ended up having mine rebuilt, I actually did it myself. i must say it isnt an easy task, but i had some help from a honda technition. Id would try changing the manual tranny fluid before i swapped the tranny though. for $5 a quart from the stealership, it isnt expensive, it might solve your problem

I have a 94 4 door LS. And..Its automatic. Would it be better to just sell it and get a new car or should I convert it to a stick? Also how hard would it be to convert it? My friend said it wouldn't be that hard but I dunno, I've heard its hard to swap trannys. Any advice? I'll probobly be just getting a new car.

Yea, figured you guys would say that. Problem is I only have $500 and blue book for my car is like $3500. It only has 112k on it too. Sure the clear coat on the roof is crapping out but I woulda thought it would be more.
