Default How do you determine trim level?

I have a 1997 Acura Integra and I'm trying to figure out what trim level it is. I tried some of those VIN lookup sights but they don't seem to have that info.

Anybody know what is in which trim level and which isn't? Its a 2 door, has the power moonroof. I don't know what other features vary from one level to the next.

Where are you? Seems trim levels vary from Canada to the States.

Is it VTEC or non-VTEC? (pop the hood, it's on your valve cover).

I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to cars... whats the valve cover look like? I just looked under the hood to see if I saw anything that obviously said "VTEC" and didn't see anything, but I may have been looking in the wrong place

No problem... I'm a little ignorant when it comes to posting up pictures. And I can't find any H-A posts with valve cover pics. So, take a look here:

http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/frameset.htm

Click on JDM OEM Parts, then Valve Covers. That, my friend, is a valve cover. It 'covers' your valvetrain and cams.

But, you don't really need to do this, if you can't see it anywhere, you ain't got it. So, if you're in Canada, and you've got a non-VTEC B18B, with a sunroof, I'd say you have a GS. What's stamped on your block? To the left of your exhaust manifold heat shield (here we go)? Should look like... B18B1.

This is a GS-R valve cover (& red ITR):

If you have the owners manual, take a look at that.

If it's got painted door moldings it's at least a GS.

If it says "VTEC" right on top of the engine it's a GS-R

If not, it could be an LS or GS.

The valve cover does NOT say VTEC, it just says "ACURA", it does have painted door moldings. So I take it that means its a GS.

The manual doesn't actually specify which model it is. Just has a lot of things that say "depending on your model you may have...."
