Default What type of teg?

hey everybody, im in the market for a used car right now(gonna be my first car) and im lookin at integras as one of my favorites. What i am wondering is what type i should get. I want something that is very fast prefferibly, and something that is nice on interior while being able to put two 12's in the back and not lookin like a faggit with a hella nice sound system but the worst integra model. My friend gsr4444 has a gs-r himself and personally thinks i should get the ls or gs model(dont remember) and then turbo it. I really like his car so anything that can be made better about it i would love to hear.

thanks, Vu

How much do you have to spend on your car? Will this be a short- or long-term ownership?

I have about 10k to spend , and i just want somethin that go go pretty fast when i wanna have a little fun. It dont gotta be a race car. Not sure about how long the ownership is gonna be, maybe around 5 or 6 years to get me through college.

5-6k on ls/gs, then turbo running low boost (6-7psi). Will be fast, reliable, and will save insurance over a gsr.

Whatever you get, please don't be a dumbass teen driver and street race. I personally knew a guy who wrapped his sweet-ass Civic with a nice system and everything around a tree because he thought it was cool to race a Mustang down a residential street. Also, you won't look stupid in the "worst model Integra" because the only difference between the LS and the GSR is the engine, and within LS, you have RS and GS where the primary difference is leather and amenities. It doesn't matter unless you want to be fast, in which case you'd want to go with the GS-R.

If you're going to turbo your LS which is a great idea, it's not going to be easy with school and college. I myself am in college right now and it's hard to find time to take care of my car. Having a turbo is a daily maintenance kind of thing, not like slapping on an intake and exhaust. It will only be reliable if you put hours of work into keeping it running well. Not to sound like a ****ing parent or anything (I'm 20 yrs old), but you should keep your car relatively stock (read: no forced induction) until you understand what goes into modding your car. If you get an Integra, props for choosing a great car. Go to team-integra.net, register there and read up on stuff. There's a wealth of information there, perfect for up and coming Integra drivers.

Go with an ls, I think its plenty of power for your first car, you might not be able to handle a gsr yet. And for sure do not turbo the car now, you will end up hurting yourself. You have to wait and gain experience.

Exactly. Buy an LS/GS that's a few years old (96-99) and in good shape for 8k or so. Save the extra $$ for insurance. You're gonna need it.
