This has been happening a lot lately, I've started my car up in the morning and i put the car into drive (yes i have auto please nobody grill me ) but i put the E-brake down but the red "brake" light still remains on. Should this even be a problem or what, im confused?? Plus iit'll finally go off for like 10 seconds then pop back on. It doesnt happen everytime but its happened a few times this past week...help!!

check the cable adjustment. make sure the switch isn't sticking or anything. and check your brake fluid level (many honda's have a sensor on the resorvoir that will turn on the e-brake light when fluid is low)

While you've got the center console removed to check the parking brake cables, also check the momentary switch & its harness [near the base of the handbrake]. If the switch is broken the "idiot light" may iilluminate despite the parking brake being released. [My kingdom for a good diagram...]

good question, I'm having the same problem. But after it has ran...and I start it up again later...it doesn't stay on.

Might try just adding a little brake fluid. My 00 GS-R started doing this at about 50K miles due to the brake resevoir getting slightly low because the pads were wearing down. The resevoir looked pretty full, but I brought all the way back up the the full mark and the light stopped comming on.

I added brake fluid to the reservoir and the light went away.
