Sup All,

I'm planning on installing a Type-R wing on my 98 GSR. I would like install an OEM wing, but I lose my third brake light then. Does anyone know if its possible or easy to install a third brake light inside the hatch like in Type R. I know there are two holes in the rear glass for the third brake light install, but is there a way around it. My other thought was to have a third brake light grafted into the hatch like in an RSX or Supras.

 

i put an LS third brake light in the stock spot, but i secured it to the hatch plastic with some heavy duty foam tape. it has held perfectly ever since, & i didnt have to drill the glass

 

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing it should be easy to open up the plastic panel and pull the wire from the spoiler once the spoiler is off and wire in the new brake light? What year teg is the brake light you got, and what is the part # if you happen to have it by chance and where did you get it? I was thinking of just getting it from www.ahmotor.com. They seem to have pretty good prices for OEM Acura and Honda stuff. What year is you teg, mine is a 98. I was thinking I should get a 98 LS third brake light?

Thats what I did with my itr wing. I took the clear 3rd brake light from a supra and put it on the hatch.

 

Grafting in the third brake light would be nice, but obviously need to go to a body shop to do it, and it would be different. I think it would look cool. But im planning on other things as well when I get to a body, who knows when that would be.

 

mines a 94, & i got it from a 97 LS (westons car). I think any year will fit.
