im about to buy a gsr '98 with 147k for 6500$. the body is in great shape but im worried about the engine. im going to take it for a test drive next week. i have a pic of the engine wut do you guys think? looks pretty beaten, is it worth it?

Check for any fluid leaks.

 

As long as maint done, should be okay. Where is the intake? You might need a new dstributor, that one looks pretty beat up, oxidized, which will probably not have any adverse functional effect. My 98 has about 115 k on it, and I would not even think of selling it for that cheap

 

thats why im worried...only 6500 ? its probably too good to be true unless the guy forgot the hood open in the rain or something otherwise why would there be so much corrosion?

maybe all it needs is a nice engine clean up

 

You should deduct $100 from the value of the car just for those horrid chrome double wiper blades.

i dunno 147k seems like a lot for a '98 but 6500 isnt bad at all plus honda motors last forever as we all know haha good luck man, i'd take it.

 

I'd say you can talk it down a little more given the condition of that engine bay!
