i read on temple of VTEC that if you take the stock resonator box off from the end of intake hose you can draw in cooler air from the wheel well. Sounds simple enough. i take off the resonator box and i can't get the box seperated from the pipe coming from the air box. it appears to be molded together. I don't want to destroy the resonator box but can't figure out how to get it open otherwise. Anyone know what i'm talking about? And would this setup help with a stock air intake?

 

the resonator actually takes air from the engine bay and puts it into the box. and it is there to resonate(sp) sound, so it will be louder.

i took mine out fairly easily. maybe someone else can help what that part.

 

You can make a CAI tube which will connect to the stock airbox which draws cold air from behind the turn signal lense (a la. Comptech Icebox).
