Default ITR Pistons/Rods

thinking about buying some integra type r pistons and rods for my stock Ls. would this be a good idea? will it fit fine? will i have to change other parts when i get them installed? what will they do for me in the performance part? please help me out on this before buying them. your suggestions are welcome. thanks

The rods will not work, they're not the same length.

The ITR pistons will raise your compression ratio from 9.2:1 to 10.3:1.

Changing pistons is not a simple task, you have to essentially take the motor all the way apart.

Unless you've totally worked over everything else, I would hold off on pistons.

In case you do it in the future, don't forget that 10.3:1 should be run with high octane "premium" gas. That's an extra 20 cents a gallon (VA prices) every time you fill up.

20 cents a gallon x 13 gallons is only an extra 2.60..... and thats assuming you run your car all the way to empty....

Well, for me, thats 20 cents x ~two tanks a week x 52 weeks in a year = around $270 a year extra in gas. It's not that bad, but it does add up in the long run, plus if you only have $5 for gas it won't get you quite as far anymore. It's a big deal for some people, others don't care. :dunno:
