in my 95 db8, the CEL comes on when im driving for about 30 min on the freeway or if i floored it hard. when the CEL is on, i can't go beyond 6500 rpm. Why does the CEL comes on? Is it the engine going bad?

ok im getting code 22, which is VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch. How do i solve this problem??

 

Most likely you'll need to replace the switch.

I've attatched the troubleshooting guide from the Helms manual for a code 22 for a more detailed explanation.

Just to clarify the location of where exactly the pressure switch is, on the first page of this file there's a picture that points to what part of the overall solenoid valve housing the pressure switch is. The solenoid valve is mounted to the cylinder head next to the distributor.
