Even Honda and Acura seem to misunderstand what the totals are, and the issue is obscured by a mixup over whether Canadian and USDM ITR were numbered the same, or not. It looks like sometimes they were, and sometimes they weren't.
You also have an official letter from Acura floating around saying that there were fewer than 400 USDM '97 ITR imported. I believe I have enough information on my own to say that the letter is incorrect, but it's an example of how even Honda-Acura really seem to have lost track.

Karl told me that he could only get verbal confirmation, and it wasn't easy. 2000 was 1350, 2001 was 1156.
Honestly though, take it for what it's worth.
