Well why do you want a shorter gear drive?

Sure, but there's many other avenues to attain that. Is there a specific goal you want?

Unless you're all up in the motor and it's totally worked over, I wouldn't bother with changing the final drive. The stock FD in the non-VTEC transmission is 4.266 so it's not a huge jump up to 4.4 really.

If you really wanted to wet yourself, swap in a JDM ITR 4.75 final.

And when I say wet yourself, I mean you will wet yourself when you go to the gas station and see how much more gas those extra cruising RPM's burn. :chuckles:

i think gears are the 1 thing lacking most in the import scene... all my v8 and truck friends constantly remind me that without using the best gear ratios, all the cash we spend on power upgrades isnt giving us our maximum results

BUT

if you drive your car everyday and not just to the races on the weekends, its not worth it.... my friend has something nuts like 5:13 or 5:17 on his truck but he *never* drives it
