when i drive my car now for like a half hour i noticed my clutch begins to make a sort of squeeking grinding noise on the pedal. also when i press down on the peddle it doesn't go in smoothly, it is a really rough feeling. when i disengage it i get the same sound and feeling. the more i drive the worse it gets and the harder it is to get in first gear. please help. i tried searching but couldn't find the exact problem

sounds like the throwout bearing could be on the outs. I think all R's have
trouble going into first now and again but if it sounds like a tin can is loose
in your engine from inside the car I would say throwout bearing. and if it is
replace the whole clutch and surface the flywheel.(dont forget the pilot bushing)

also know that it's very hard for most of us to get into first without being a complete stop. if you can't feel the clutch slipping at all under full acceleration then yeah it should be the throwout bearing

Quite simple, your pressure plate is getting ready to shit. As these clutches get old and tired they become stiffer and the pressure plate eventually breaks. Normally a noisy throwout bearing is quiet when idle and noisy when pressed.
I know my clutch gave no signs of weakness except your diagnosis before the plate went.
