quick question for the knowledgable
So from your experience, a toda header, w/ a carsound cat, and an exhaust such as the Fujitsubo RM-01A (untuned) would net me how much hp???
Also, (in your opinion) the same set up w/ the stock exhaust???
As a sidenote: I just heard a sound clip and of the RM-01A
..........music to my ears

RMA-01 is very nice.
I'd say Intake, Toda Header, Cat, Fujitsubo is worth about 8-12 hp. A lot depends on where you car is at stock. Tuned you should see another 4-8 hp.
I'd say untuned you are looking at 180-182 and tuned 185-190. THese are VERY ROUGH guesses but are based on the parts you are asking about and seeing all the different R's reaction to them.

I know this isn't from an ITR, but results should be similar.
Motor: B18C1 - 2000 Integra GS-R, each pull below is with the stock crush-bent gs-r exhaust.
Mods for the red line: AEM CAI, 18 degrees base ignition timing
Mods for the blue line: AEM CAI, 18 degrees base ignition timing, JDM ITR 4-1 header and 2.5" carsound high flow cat

So having the header match the cat-back is needed? No. Don't think so.
The car hit nearly 170whp after removal of ps, 2.5" exhaust and vafc tuning. To break that down, it hit (same day) 163whp/120ftlbs with just the removal of PS, then a whopping 165/120 with the ps removed and the 2.5" catback, then went to 169.x/122.x with vafc tuning. As for the power under the curve, it was worse with the 2.5" exhaust until a good bit of tuning. The car was a bit slower with the 2.5" exhaust added (until it was tuned, changing vtec xover removed the biggest dip in power and the car was running lean at the high end so it gained top and low end, nothing between 5 and 6.5k though).

Thanks alot for all the info Dave and Trey. So for about $2,000, I'd be gaining possibly 20 whp with some tuning. Shit, modding is too damn expensive. My buddy just dropped $495 into his GTI 1.8t for a chip and it gave him 35 whp! Doesn't seem as if there is an easy way out for all us N/A guys. Thanks -Ryan
I have a hard time believing that bolting on a JDM header with everything else on the car stock will net 15-20whp, but if Trey has done it - then that's how it is. Good luck in your search for power.

lol, that's a bit understating it. You need an intake (I prefer cold air intakes), a JDM 4-1. You will only see a 15 hp gain if you have a 1998 and change from a 1998 intake cam to a 2001 intake cam. The cam alone gave me 5 whp. And this 15 whp was tuned with a power FC.

My question is, will say a toda header and carsound cat bolt up to my stock cat-back?? I know about the 2.5" vs. 2.25" difference between the two, but is there any way around this?? Any suggestions are appreciated in advance
RGoose, where did you hear the sound clip at..
was interested in checking it out...
