What gains can you expect from a J's Intake on a bone stock R?? Also, is it as good as people say?? I'm not a big fan of the AEM CAI and don't have enough cash for a mugen......any suggestions are appreciated.

I would definately recommend it for throttle response and good midrange power.

If you are a drag race type person, I would not recommend it.

my friend has the J intake in his R. he loves it because its better throttle respone and midrange power, so its good for normal driving. aem is little low end, and more top end power, still good but u have to be up up in the power band to acess the power.

Personally I have an Icebox. :P

I was surprised, however, that when one of my mechanics tested the J's Racing intake on a racing ITR that it did give solid gains over other intakes.

Whether or not cold air intakes would exceed the J's Racing's improvements when they're actually getting high speed, cold air, I don't know. But it did show solid gains on the dyno over the other intakes.

There are also cheap plastic copies of the J's Racing intake that make it quite affordable. Not so affordable that I'd dump the Icebox for it, but I would think about it if I were shopping for an intake for the first time.

Thanks for the input, now after I pulled a few teeth, I can make the decision and go ahead and get a J's. As for people not answering question's, I definately agree with you. I find that if more feedback were given on IMPORTANT topics such as this, and less time on stupid shit, like whether or not 17's look good on an R, I would spend a lot less time asking people ?'s over at HT. Thanks Again

It's not good for drag beacuse sitting at the tree, it sucks in a ton of hot air when are you getting ready to go. Best on the road course where the car is moving.
