Experimenting Part II: FMU
Well I wasn't happy with the first experiment I ran, which was to decrease fuel pressure, and also prevent the stock regulator from building pressure under boost. I actually forced the regulator to drop the fuel pressure as a function of manifold pressure. I'm confident that the lower fuel pressure reduced the atomization of the fuel and degraded the spray pattern of the injectors.
Last night, I re-installed my FMU and am now running 440cc injectors, 1:12 FMU and VAFC. Interestingly enough I experienced detonation with my initial fuel settings. I thought the added pressure would increase fuel flow significantly, but now that I think about it, the fuel that the FMU adds is not that extreme. So far with just a little playing the car feels like a different animal. I will continue this experiment for a while and will post the results. I am still running a check valve between the MAP and the intake.

Well, I haven't enjoyed my car this much since April when I ran my 12s, it seems that as soon as the weather got warm, the car ran like shit (with 440s no FMU). Until now, with the FMU and the 440s and the VAFC, I am having excellent success. Tonight I had her up to 8100 and she was still pulling hard, I had to let off (damn speed limits). I am now planning on going to the strip one more time this year. I hit my goal of 12s without Hondata this year already, but would like to see something lower than a 12.7. The car feels stronger than ever, so I will update this when I go to the strip to let you know how it went.
