Any word on what's happening with this? I thought it was developed and available for sale, but recieved an email from a shop today saying AEM doesn't intend to make it for the Type R because they couldn't generate significant enough gains over their original CAI.

It also used to be on the AEM website and has a part number 24-6012, but no longer shows up there <scratching head>

Does anyone know the story?

As far as I know, AEM scrapped the V2 for an ITR due to barely no gains over the V1 CAI. They have one for a GS-R but thats it.

1 more WHP over a stock intake or an original AEM CAI?

I'm on a stock intake now and am looking at either the AEM or Comptech Icebox. The icebox is nice, but I like the noise (believe it or not) of the AEM as it helps me tell where I'm at in the powerband (in or out of VTEC) when autocrossing. My problem with the AEM was a lack of throtte response which I was hoping the V2 addressed. If so, regardless if made the same hp or slightly more than the original I was going to go with it.

It doesn't appear they're going to offer one for the R now, but I've been told the 99-00 Si V2 fits the ITR with no troubles.

Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether the throttle response is better or not with the V2? This really is the deciding factor for me. TIA.

Hahahaha, bend.....not sure, but there are enough guys on the board who have apparently done it, just ask....

As far as not having any money...so then get the comptech version for like half the price...

Later,
