Hey everyone. I'm new here (obviously) and just wanted to say hello to you all.

In just a few shorts weeks, I am (hopefully) going to purchase a Type-R. I just have a few quick questions to ask (I'm sure somone has asked already, so please bare with me):

1) How will I be able to tell if it's a real Type-R, not a GSR with red Acura Badges?

2) Hondas are great cars. I have an old civic now that had loads of miles, and never gave me problems. Do the Type-R's ever become unreliable as they get high into the miles? Should I watch out for that, or will this car be a bull till I get into the 200k range? Haha.

That's all for now. Thanks for any help that you guys offer. Sucks I just missed the Expo. There's always next year.

There are loads of distinguishing factors, not the least of which are:

The interior
The wheels(5 lug)
The engine (stamped B18C5)
The Tranny, Stamped LSD, though it does wear off eventually
Strut tower bar

Etc....

You should know the difference, I hope, it would be painfully obvious if it's a fake

Good Luck,
Aj

For jdm type r, be careful because the stamp says b18c, which is easily mistaken as a GSR.
