s/ced typeR hybrid
ok i'm gonna be dropping the b18c5 into a 93 dx civic coupe. the thing is rated at about 2200lbs. a little lighter than the typeR. first of all, what times should i run in the 1/4 with basic bolt-ons? also, what times should i run with a jrsc installed? i am basically looking for a daily driver that will get me ocasionally into the 12s, but mostly 13.0-13.3s. could this be accomplished with this setup?
thanks
btw, alot of people prefer turbo, but i totally disagree. the s/c brings back the low-end that the type-r/gsr lacks, this is why i think its a smart choice. plus, its better for 1/4 mile
thanks

turbo cars are faster 1/4 mile man...use a turbo that will give you torque(like a smaller one, somthing like a T28BB or 18g). I hope you are planning to have fun wiring that car up. OBD2 motor and OBD1 cars are a pain. on 6 psi from a JRSC with bolt ons and water injection you should beable to hit low 13's at best on drag radials. with bolt ons look for a low 14 second high 13 second car
Guy, an H22 motor makes for a better donor for a hybrid swap than a B18C Type R engine (assuming you're using a JDM engine; I'll be really disappointed in you if you use a B18C5 =\ ). Better torque, much more cost effective and Jackson's said that they've seen high gains with their Prelude SC's with I/H/E.
I just don't see 12's happening with that setup. Sell the s/c and get a turbo if you want 12's. I've heard of an H22 running s/c just barely hitting high 12's, but that's 20% more displacement. If you spray, you might have a chance.
The B18C5 isn't any more likely to pass smog than an H22A if the latter fails a smog test so I'm not understanding why you'd prefer the ITR engine. You're swapping a completely different engine into your car that did not come as a factory option so you would already fail the visual part of your inspection. My suggestion is to find someone that can turn the other cheek during your testing or to find a way of obtaining an inspection sticker under the table.
Oh I love fast and the furious Saturns, I will pack my shit and move to Minnesota immediately so I can become one with all those fast and the furious Saturns.
There's a dude at work who put a DTM style muffler on a Saturn automatic. The car has like 1 inch exhaust, he had the muffler shop weld on this 3 inch inlet muffler (brain boy) He asked me how I thought it sounded, I could'nt break it to him. But it sounded like a fu..ing moped times a hundred. What a hack!!
