the Type-R i'm driving now was stolen before. I dont' know who the previous owner was. Since I've owned it, I've been very careful with it...but even so, there've been countless atempts to steal it.

Advice to all, use the Auto-Loc, and a GOOD alarm. Park in very populated areas (lots of eyes), and if you park it in your garage or ur driveway, park another car behind it. But no matter what, if they reallyx want it, they'll get it...

what did PGC police find out anyway on your car? I know the feeling living in N.Va. My car was stolen in front of my house around Sept. They stole my car only to leave it a block away. Enough time to take my 2 front seats, my ecu, my front struts, valve cover, ripped open my steering column, steal my cds, my soocer cleats, opened all covers to fluids (ex. oil cover, power steering, so,so). Fairfax County still to these day have no clue. Also at the same time the cop was filing a report a call was made that they found a supped up celica at Springfield Mall stripped. What you might want to look into is Vertex or NU Image. They have a reputation of being kinda shady. I heard that PW county raided a house full of hispanics and about 30 b-series engines in the back garage. Radley Acura had to flush my entire engine and order all new parts from Florida. It took them like a week and a half to fix it. Still, it's not the same as it was before. The steering is hard and the clutches are all fucked up and the antenna won't go down unless I smack the top with something flat. Don't fix it, just buy another one or get a WRX or the EVO 8. I can't sell my car yet cause I still owe on it and plus now I have a stolen/recovered title on it. Your insurance might want to fix cause it would be cheaper for them to fix than give you the value of your car.
sorry dude, later

Bummer mate!!!!!! I almost had mine stolen ('97 #30) in Portland,OR last year at this time. My friend heared the alarm go of and I ran outside naked to try and catch the criminal. They had slim jimmed a door, but the alarm had scared them off. Good thing as SIG-SAUER protects me and my car. I know what you mean:it's impossible to replace an R. Mine was vandalized in Oct. of 2001, and the repair shop is still trying to match the plastic parts. If you have to get a STi WRX when they come out this year. I have a 2002 CTR in Germany, and it's just as fine, and it's got 6 perfect gears. It needs 7. If you are interested in obtaining a CTR to replace the ITR i will set you up with my dealership in Germany. Best of Luck and hope it's either undisturbed(YA RIGHT!!!!) or totalled....so you can replace. I'd wish Japan would send us the DC3R, as I would go out and get one once they where driven off the boat. Shawn

I'd like to hear the details of how the car looks, and what's left. I hope you are prepared to ask the insurance company for replacement money. I 'm sure you want to replace it. I've seen three advertisments with Rs for sale in the last month on the West coast if you are interested in a used one. I"ll have to jog my memory while at work today as to where i saw the ads. Shawn

well, i saw it and all i can say is that my ride was GUTTED!!! it was just a shell. the peeps knew what they wanted, my R was a target (of course). they left the doors, windows, hood, trunk, bumpers and air bags so i know people weren't taking it for all the parts. im sure some gsr or honda will be sporting type r shit now. engine, tranny, seats, sway bar. tires, odometer, front lip and wing gone! engine was taken out very clean!!

i'll post pictures online within a few days...

hey i'm really sorry to hear about your R. i used to work for honda in torrance california and back in '98 our testing department had four of itrs. three of them got stolen. everyone at work was warning me about mine. i've managed to dodge the bullet so far.

i ran into one guy at the track that also got his itr stolen. the strange thing about his story was that they found it all intacted. then upond closer inspection he noticed that it had gsr rims on it. then he popped the hood and found a gsr motor installed in his itr. yeah so the guys who stirpped his car took the time to covert it to a gsr. i don't know why they would do that.

anyway i hope that the insurance gives you enough money for a nice replacement

Sorry to hear about your loss. there's a crazy car theft that happened to my friend up here in Minnesota. One night my friend parked his electric blue GSR in front of his parking lot instead of inside of his garage and that particular month he didn't pay his insurance so he was booted off. He also forgot to alarm his car. Well, needless to say the found his car stripped in the middle of the street still running. Almost everything stripped down even to the shift knob. They even scratched up the body of the car writing "thank you" into the paint and because his rims had wheel locks and they couldn't get them off they just scuffed up the rims and scratched'em up. Boy that man was screwed. I see him every once and a while with a fucked up body paint and a shattered ego ( because he had a big one) I own an ITR and I have the security Compustar which I paid $700 for it. It comes with a pager and starter lock plus extras. So if someone even touches my car it will page me and go off. have you guy's thought about getting a GPS for your car? I'm going to get one also.

honestly, i thought i dodge the bullet also since i've had it so long BUT i guess not. im always watching my car, i also try to make sure to park under a light or where a lot of people travel/walk. oh well, like people said before, if they want it, they'll take it. thats a messed up story about the guy with the "big ego", thats a hard lessoned learned. about my R, my insurance towed it to a body shop today. actually i just received a call. the appraiser from my insurance still hasn't seen it. the guy at the body shop just called to BS with me about what happened and if insurance wants to repair it, where do i want it done. i questioned my insurance about buying it back yesterday but they told me to wait and talk to the appraiser. i'll def let you know if you're interested. the body shop guy told me he would call when the apprasier gets out to his shop. ill update this as i get them.....
