Hey, I've been thinking about getting some coilovers for my R, but my price range is sorta low. For now I've been thinking about Apexi WS or Tein Type SS. I've read and heard good and bad things about the Apexi setup, and really, it doesn't sound bad for what I'd be doing, some autocrossing/track days and street. The Tein though has adjustable damping, which the Apexi does not. Does anyone have experience with either of these? The other thing I'd like to have is either the FIGHTEX coilovers but they're retardedly expensive, or the JIC something or others, which are also somewhat out of my range. Just out of curiousity, how are these?

They don't make the SS for the Type-R. They make them for the GSR/LS due to the different LCA's. Look into Zeal Function B2's for $1100. Best setup for the money. Definitely would buy it over WS's

Is the Zeal setup ok on the street? That's where most of my driving will be done, so I don't want to compromise it too much for a little bit better time on the track. And the Zeals, I assume they're shock adjustable as well as height adjustable?

yes the B2 is basically a street setup valving so you will be just fine with those; and throw in some occasional tracking also 8)

they are height and 6 way damper adjustable.
