hi, i'm new to the board and i thought i'd ask the experts about what i might look for in a used type R, after all, who would know the car better than those who drive one everyday....anyway, i'm looking for an 00-01 fbp R with considerably low mileage and 100% stock, how much you think i could expect to pay for one, i was thinking in the range of 20-23,000...also, are there any things i should look for, i.e. trouble spots? i doubt there are many as i know it's a wonderfully built car, but any thoughts are welcome here guys! thanks a lot in advance...

probably around 20 grand for low mileage, and i would have the history checked. Type-Rs get stolen almost weekly. hopefully that doesn't scare you away from purchasing one...its such a great car.

No real trouble spots on this car. Since you're looking at one you already know its good points. The $ you have is appropriate; don't be afraid to spend money on a well-kept car - you'll pay for what you get. The only thing to look for, as with any used sports car, is any indication of abuse ie sloppy shifter, slipping clutch, excessive body-work problems etc.
Good luck. The main thing to remember is TAKE YOUR TIME; don't be in a hurry to buy the first one you find, unless it's the right one. Your patience will be well rewarded with a fabulous car.

I couldnt' agree more...TAKE YOUR TIME. I hunted mine down for four years. anyway, i think even $20,000 is a bit steep...
