Exactly, unless you've reset the ECU the code is stored and just waiting for you to check to see what it was. h:

Please, for the love of God (and the sanity of many members), check the code. :a:

well crap... im in trouble i was right the vtech was kicking in way to late... the CEL code says it was a vtech system malfunction. CEL code was 22, I am totally clueless here what are some things that would cause this?

really? aight well ill go check out the oil in the car maybe i have a slow leak in a line hmmm. get back to you.

Um, did you read the whole code?

Code 22:

VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch

well im looking at my book and it said "P1259(22) Vtec System Malfunction" old book i guess thx checking this out atm, shouldnt have doubted you, can you tell me a few syntoms of what the car would drive like with this problem?

Should drive perfectly fine until you got to VTEC range. Without enough oil pressure it might engage late, or not engage at all.

sweet thanks man i knew there was something wront with the vtec engageing at 6900 rpm man ive been trying to figure this out im an idiot... glade i came here lol, cant say it again thx for helping me out ill go see what is wrong once i find out where this switch is located on the engine

That's the solenoid. vtec oil pressure switch is on the back of the block. Long white connector.
