Default will vtec engage with the CEL on?

well does it? i've been driving my brother's gsr and his CEL is on. but as soon as i take it above 4400 :rick: there is a very noticeable change in exhaust tone.

VTEC is usually only disabled by code(s) involving the VTEC system itself.

I THINK IT might depend onthe ecu as well.my freind ahd a pr3 that wouldnt engage when any cel came on

I always thought when a cel came on it goes into Fail safe mode which cancels the VTEC
