Bolt on upgrades, most efficient?
hey well after hearing my cousin hitting 17.2 with his stock auto Celica GTS, ive realized that i really need to do performance so i dont suck, i have a 95 integra GSR, n i got a cold air on it for now, got denso spark plugs coming in, but im wondering if AEM pulleys would be hard to install, im not too stupid, engine wise but i dont know a whole lot. im a junior in high school taking an automotive class. or what other kind of bolt ons would efficiently help? im thinking of headers btu do i have other choices? thanks
In all honesty I would hold off on the pulleys untill you know a little more, about what it is exactly that you are doing in theory with the pulley's. However for now You would probably be better off saving up for a header, and exhaust system. Either way your gs-r is going to be way faster then your cousin's celica.
Skip the plugs, skip the pulleys.
The only things that will really make you any sort of power are an intake, header and exhaust. From there you have to get more involved with the motor with an intake manifold/throttle and then it's time to go inside the motor.

for a second i thought you said i'm in junior high school....
i say, "get a good set of tires and then work on suspension first" your car is capable of mid to high 15s considering good driving conditions (including driver ability) bone stock. your car will dust your cousin's celica regardless.

Good shock and springs, upgraded rear sway bar, and nice tires will give you the best bang for your buck. Intake and header back will give you a marginal, but noticable amount of power, but wont have as much of an impact as you would want or expect
I’ve been told that pulleys will improve your launches by a lot. So if you’re going to a strip to race then I’m sure it will help your times.
Plus the AEM true pulleys are only like $120 right? (not that bad of a price)

ITR cams would give you some good gains for about $400
But for a motor to be more efficient, it needs to breathe: intake, header, cat, exhaust with the exhaust side properly sized (diameter-wise) would definitely bump up your choked-from-the-factory GSR motor.
