CF craze
So... now that VIS makes CF hatches, has anyone seen one on a car? What do you think of them?... I think it'd look pretty sweet, but can CF really hold a giant piece of glass firmly?.. hmm.... dunno, just tossing some thoughts around on it.
ehh, i was psyched about it when i first saw it, but then i saw the price.. $450, plus shipping, and most likely you'll need to buy a new rear windsheild. im sure thats not cheap, then you gotta install it, or have it installed.. if you opt for the FAL rear windsheild, you lose weight, but you also lose your rear defroster, and of course your rear wiper, if that means anything to you.. so ive kinda decided against it. just my $.02. :dunno:
On a street car it's a pretty bad idea.
If you're building a track car where composite panels and windows are allowed, you can probably save a bunch of weight by switching to a CF hatch and lexan rear window.
I guess if you're trying to go for the "JDM" style bling (even though ViS is an American company) for a show car then it might win a point or two.
But yeah for a car that is actually used as a real car I'd skip it.

The whole deal w/ the glass just sounds very unnappealing... anyone have pics of it? I only found pics of the hatch not on a car.
