You car would be a dog with a b16a in it. Keep the LS motor or atleast swap to a b18c1. Oh yeah a 2000 SI motor would be a b16a2. h:

i've seen/driven/ridden a few b16 powered DC integra's. i'm so used to my slow ass LS, that the b16 seemed much more at home than the standard b18b, not to mention that its quicker, faster and smoother. sure it has less torque, but its not like its THAT much less. what would be slow is a b16 with a LS tranny. now that would be shitty. yes yes the torque curves/peaks are totally different between the two and i know that....

people can say this and that, but i have personal experience.

on the other hand....i think you should: save the money for upgrading the LS (turbo!) or just stick with the LS motor for now, and build a bad ass suspension setup. unless u blow the b18b AND its tranny, and no one around u has anything else but a b16a/tranny, then thats when u should drop in a b16 (unless its free or whatever).

Regardless of how it feels stock for stock, the lower deck and shorter stoke is going to limit the B16A compaired to the B18B in terms of future upgradability. I have a structure of what I consider the minimum useful displacement for each body:
86-89: 1.6l (D16A1)
90-93: 1.7l (B17A1)
94-01: 1.8l (B18B1)

Any less then that, the car is lacking in torque.

$1500 is a lot to pay for any B16A anyway, IMHO.

now,if you put a b16 tranny on a ls motor that should tear the b16 too pieces. And the torque difference is huge...thats why we have longer gears.Because we make all the torque too get through the gear quicker, than we would if we had too rev the piss out of it, ie b16.Spend the 1500 like this, custom turbo kit.Or if it was me,400 tranny...300 cams...300 p30 pistons...and the rest can be used for tuning if ya want.Theres a post on honda tech of a all-motor b18b1 making 190 hp and 160 torque. And he only spent about 2500 doing it...

yes yes, i've posted many times about non-LS trannies on LS motors....i've driven b16 tranny equipped LS motors too....you're right they do tear b16s to pieces.
