Default How to strip clear coat off of rims???

I need to know how to do this, so I can reapply it to some wheels I have acquired. What's a safe and easy way to do this??? BTW, the clear coat is only on the lip, so how can I go about this???

Aluminum rims are bad news in winter- the salt on roads corrodes the clear coat and then the aluminum. I would use a scotchbrite oad to get the clearcoat off, and then re-polish the metal and re-coat it.
