I didn't notice a change when I removed my OEM bar, and I didn't notice it when I put it back on. I think the only noticable change will be under heavy stresses, like auto-xing, when your chassis wants to flex, and only then might you see an improvement by a second or two.

I noticed a tad bit of difference with my front strut bar. Felt like it cornered a bit better and felt more solid on the road.

I've heard a rear strut bar is almost impossible to feel a difference with.

Front strut bar will make your car respond a little better (depending on the company/size); technically speaking the stiffer your front strut bar is the more responsive your car will be, but the tradeoff is that your car will have a greater tendency to understeer at the limit. If you get a really striff rear sway bar or something of that nature, you'll make the car do exactly the opposite: oversteer. In both cases stiffer doesn't necessarily mean better, although you'll certainly have a more noticeable difference the stiffer/larger the bar.

I noticed with my strut bar that the paint in my engine bay started to chip. I guess this is caused by stress. Is this normal?? The chipping is right where my strut towers are in my engine bay.

Is it an aftermarket strut bar? What brand? Stock bars shouldn't do this....
