Alot of people mount it where the spare tire is, or you can mount it on the far right side. If the impact of an accident were to crush your rear end and hit the bottle, I'd say there's alot more to worry about than that. Besides those bottles are pretty sturdy.

Well, it depends. Is nitrous illegal in MD?

If not, just bolt it to something sturdy (like a peice of thin plywood) in the back hatch. It will make it easier to pull and refill.

I thought I'd mention an off-the wall install I'd seen recently. The 10lb bottle was mounted just behind the rear seatback in a DC4 coupe with the bottle parallel to the seat back. :eh: The owner fabricated brackets that firmly attached the bottle mount to the metal brace below. And the orientation of the bottle and the pickup tube is crucial as well. There's a lot of hassle in using this location, and I'm entirely sure why the owner chose that particular location.
I'd only use it if I was really paranoid about getting rear ended. There are better, simpler ways to mount one's nitrous bottle, IMO. A securely mounted section of 1/4" plywood - one that is held down by the spare tire bolt [at least] - should make a perfectly fine mount location for a 10lb bottle.

Happy Juicing! :rick:

heres an idea.... cut a hole in your passenger side seat, then put it inside there. that would be SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!!!!!! hahaha j/k. i'd put it in the trunk where no one can see it, less chance of it getting stolen.
