Default Difference between Vtec and non-vtec

What exactly is the difference between vtec and non-vtec (I know it sounds dumb but nobody has ever explained it to me...) ? What is better about the v-tec?

The difference is 30hp and about 1/2 a second in the 1/4 mile.

VTEC is a feature that takes a cam and allows it to have the properties of 2 cams by switching the cam lobes at a certain RPM. I can go into all sorts more detail but you need to be sure you understand how cams work first.

It's worth mentioning, "non-VTEC" engine is a "normal" engine.

It amazes me the extent to which people are unable or unwilling to use search engines. I found this site in about 10 seconds with google.

Pretty cool what you can find all by yourself, isn't it? You don't even have to wait for someone on a forum to reply with an answer.

Yes, this post is intentionally cynical. But the point is: SEARCH. Check out a search engine, search this site, etcetera. A ton of stuff out there can be found with relatively little effort on your part.
