Default What does this mean?

whenever i start my car, i look down and the MAINT REQ light flashes on for about 5-7 seconds and then goes off and doesn't come back on until i start my car again. My car has 87k on it and i dont know why it is coming on? is it because im supposed to get my 90k tuneup and it is just letting me know early or what?

you probably guessed exactly right when you are actually schedueled for it it will just stay on until you reset it and go get the tuneup or oil change that you are schedueled for

Look under the dash, above the gas pedal, but closer to the back of the car. Like where you're knee is. You'll see a button there. Hold it while the car is on.

It's a timer; it flashes as a reminder to do your scheduled maintenance. When it stays on permanently then you're either at or past the mileage when u should do your maintenance.

I still have my maintenance done by the stealership h: but that's because I'm incompetent; I'm assuming you perform the maintenance yourself?

you have to hold it down for about 5 seconds for it to go off.

RTFM

Read the F****** manual. (Not trying to be rude, just had to use the acronym)

Its a maintenance light and it is based on mileage. It will flash longer until eventually it will saty on constantly. Look directly under the kick panel right above the gas pedal and youll see a black box with a grey or black butto. Turn the key to the on position and press and hold the button. The light will illuminate and stay on for about five seconds. After a few seconds, the light will reset.

Itsh just like the dummy reminder on other hondas that turns from green to red. :fawk:
