is tanabe super hyper medallion quiet
hey guys i have gsr with 5 zigen universal fireball with 2.25 custom piping and is too damn loud, i m goin to replace with tanabe hyper medallion, is this quiet i want quiet and power gains, what size piping u guys recommend
The Hyper Medalion is still on the loud side. If your custom 2.25" piping is in good condition (i.e. no rust), then I'd recommend an 18" long perforated-core Magnaflow resonator and an e•s Tuning Systems universal muffler.
Quiet, with superior flow and no need for silencer inserts like the Apex'i N1.. Very discreet.

If you want a good exhaust that's quiet, get the RSR ex mag. The Tanabe is quieter than what you have but still more raspy than the Apexi WS and the RSR Ex Mag. The ex mag looks cool too (gray/black pipe).
The Super Hyper Medallion is actually their quieter exhaust. It will be noticeable quieter than any sort of canister style muffler like your Fireball. It's still got a little bit of sound to it but overall I'd say it's pretty reasonable, and I hate canister style exhausts.
If you want the absolute most quiet aftermarket exhaust, the RS*R Exmag is the way to go. Some people like the A'PEXi WS but I don't because it doesn't have stainless pipes.
