I have a 91 Acura Integra 3-D LS, and I was looking for new rims to replace the ugly stock ones.

The ones I currently have are 14" (not sure of the width or other specs).

My question is, what would be the optimal offset and size if I want to upgrade to 15" wheels? Also, what other changes need to be made (speedometer?).

Are those reasonable, or is the offset/etc. incorrect?

The specs that are given for those wheels are ideal for your car. You shouldn't have anything to worry about getting those wheels for your car.

 

What would be the ideal offset on 17 X 7.5 rims? Is +45 ok?

I wouldn't go any larger than 16" wheels personally.

As for maintaining the outside diameter of the tire, that has to do with tire sizing more than wheel sizing. Here's a good tire size calculator that will let you compare two sizes: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Your stock tire size is 195/60-14.

Do you say 16" wheels for appearance, performance, or economic reasons?

The 16's that I like have a +40 offset and are 7" wide. Is that OK?

 

All three.

I mean, it's not like 17" wheels are going to seriously affect the way your car drives in a negative way. But, they look a bit too big unless you have a body kit, they are generally heavier, to get a light-weight one you have to spend more, the tires are more expensive, and the tire sidewalls are really skinny.

A 7" wide wheel with a +40 offset should fit no problem. For tire size you want either 205/45-16 or 215/40-16.

I might be buying some wheels off a friend. They have been on an Integra (I'm unsure of the model) for a few thousand miles, and a Nissan Maxima for a short while as well. Should this be a problem? I've heard that the car that the wheels came off of can be a factor.

Also, if I'm switching from 195/60-14 to 205/40-17 is it neccessary to do an alignment? The difference in radius is approximately 1/10 of an inch.
