Default Integra Year Question

ok ok i know alot of you have probably gone over this millions and millions of times and have told millions and millions of people the answer to this and trust me i searched i do more looking then actual talking here but now i have tyo know this. Ok i have an 89 crx hf i am swapping a 91 Ls (obviously integra) engine but my friend just offered his 93 LS, i was looking around and i noticed that there were some differences between these. The 93 has i believe 10 more horsepower or something like that, but still has the same b18a engine so really what is the difference between the years 90-93 for the Ls engine is it that it that the later years are tuned better from the factory, better ECU or is it something else. please respond because if there is a huge diffrence then i will take out the clutch, waterpump, and other tuneup things i have put in the 91 and put in the 93 and if its not that big of deal then i will just keep the 91 and save myself the trouble. thanks alot for your help.

You would be better off going with the 91 LS swap since its already obd0. The 93 LS motor will be obd1 so you would have to convert it to obd0 for it to plug into your CRX harness. I am pretty sure there is no HP differences between the 2 just the obd difference.

I believe the difference is 91 is pre-obd and 93 would be obd1 (obd 2 didn't come until 96).

get the 91, and put in 92-3 intake and exhaust cams. that's what the difference between the motors really is.

i also heard something about how the distributor is diffrent? i dont really know if that is true or not but if it is, is it interchangeable? like can i put 92-3 a distributor on it (not just talking about the distributor i mean other parts are they interchangable? between the years) thanks for the response, i was thinking of going with an aftermarket header and cams so that wasnt really a problem. but thanks alot for the info peeps.

alright, 90-91 ls is obd 0. 92-95 is obd 1. 90-93 is considered b18a1. in order to put the 92-93 ls motor in your car you'd need to use a distributor, ecu, injectors off ofa 90-91 obd0 motor. the 92-93 b18a1 motor is 10 horsepower more, and like 5 or so lb. ft of torque more. The parts are interchangeable for pretty much everything

Different, yes. Interchangeable, yes. Buuuuut... with an OBD0 car you're probably going to want the OBD0 dizzy.

Difference between the 2 b18as is cams, as stated before. I suspect some bottom end differences as well.

It's not worth the bother to use the newer engine.
